Anna Hawkins

Clinical Psychologist

By exploring options for therapy, you’ve already made a major step toward recovery. As a Clinical Psychologist, my role is to support you to understand the difficulties you are experiencing, and to work collaboratively with you to make manageable changes towards improvements in your day-to-day life.  I recognise that therapy can be challenging and I aim to be approachable and can assist you in clarifying treatment needs and focus.

I have over 20 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist and remain part-time in the Perinatal Mental Health Service, Te Whatu ora, Counties Manukau.  As such, I have experience working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and life stages.

I utilise evidence-based psychological treatments and mainly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I find that integrating various treatment models can be most effective to meet client needs. I offer focussed short to medium term therapy options.

I see clients from young adulthood to older age.
